Gallery Klosterfelde is proud to present the first exhibition with Kirsten Pieroth (*1970), often works with
objects related to the domestic sphere.

Daily life objects, which we identify and classify through form, function or cultural identity are withdrawn
from their original context and analyzed vis à vis other objects or the object itself. Starting-point of the
works is often a comparison of opposite or common characteristics which in turn trigger unusual con-
nections.
Even if the external form is occasionally changed, the typical identifying marks of the object remain.
The viewer can no longer complete a definite categorization of the signifiers. This oscillating movement
between different sections exclude hierarchical principles through equivalent coexisting definitions.
The literal transformation of notions into objects paradoxically leads to new definitions and decontext-
ualisation. The simultaneousness of verbal reflection and of the order system is revealed. The works of
Pieroth question the relationship between the action of looking, notion and object.
